CHMN 658 ADVANCED CHURCH MINISTRY PRACTICUM - 1
This course is designed to provide advanced church ministry experience. It is required as part of the MDiv program in cooperation with a local congregation. The students will participate in church ministry to develop skills such as preaching, evangelism, youth ministry, church leadership, and administration. This course may be repeated twice, indicated by successive Roman numerals.

TIME INVESTMENT Engage in church ministries under the supervision of a qualified “field supervisor” for at least two months (one term). |
COURSE OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to:
- Perform specific tasks of pastoral ministry like church nurture, outreach, and organizational leadership.
- Takes responsibility to lead and equip the church to progress by faith despite challenges
- Engage with issues, challenges, and obstacles in pastoral ministry.
- Articulate own theological foundation for pastoral ministry and a clear sense of calling.

Ministry Activities
1. SMALL GROUP LEADERSHIP: Small group leader or coordinator |
2. EVANGELISM. Be the preacher during an evangelistic campaign. |
3. PREACHING OR ADULT TEACHING: Speaking or preaching in public meetings or services, or adult Sabbath school teaching. |
4. CHURCH ADMINISTRATION: Church elder, deacon/deaconess, secretary, treasurer, administrator, council member, or board member. |
5. INTERNSHIP: Work as an intern or assistant pastor. |
6. CHURCH MINISTRY LEADERSHIP: Leadership of an aspect not covered by the above practicum ministry |
COURSE FACILITATOR/DEVELOPER
VICTORIA AJA, DMin, BCC Dr. Victoria Aja is an assistant professor in the Applied Theology Department of the AIIAS Theological Seminary, Philippines. Before joining AIIAS in 2017, Victoria was an adjunct lecturer (Religious Studies Department) and a full-time Chaplain at Babcock University / Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. She has been actively involved in promoting chaplaincy programs and equipping pastors, educators, chaplains, and other students through various trainings at AIIAS. |
