How to Drop/Withdraw from a Course
Dropping a course may only be done during the dropping period, which is one week after the student’s first access of that course, by following the steps below:
- E-mail the professor your intention to drop the course and copy furnish This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
- Request the professor to communicate with AIIAS Online of the approval of your dropping.
- Fill up the Drop/Add Form and send it as an e-mail attachment to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
- A notification e-mail will be sent to you once you have been successfully dropped from the course.
- AIIAS Online will unenroll you from the course.
A course that is dropped during the drop/add period will not appear on the student’s transcript, but will still show on the academic record.
A grade of W indicates withdrawal from the course after the end of the drop/add period, but before 50% of the course has been taught. If the student withdraws after 50% of the contact hours, this withdrawal will appear on the transcript as withdrawal with a passing grade (WP) or withdrawal with a failing grade (WF), based on assessments completed. Administrative withdrawal may occur when a student is absent from more than 15% of the course.
NOTE: The financial implications of dropping or withdrawing from a course can be found in the Registration and Payment section (please scroll to the bottom of the page).
